At every grade level, Faithful Shepherd students are inspired to serve others and contribute to their fellow students, their parishes and their communities.

Serving Each Other and Our School
Here are some of the ways your child will practice servitude at Faithful Shepherd:
  • Kindergarten students are paired up with 5th and 8th grade mentors. Our youngest students learn by example, developing relationships with their mentors throughout the year. Older students learn the power of serving others when they pass on their own gifts and knowledge to younger children.
  • During advent and lent service projects are planned with community benefit in mind. Past examples include: collecting personal items for Dakota Woodlands, adopted families through the Moms and Neighbors service organization, and a partnership with Padros Nuestros in Nicaragua.
  • In Middle School, students are required to complete 30 Service Hours within the school, the parish and the community as part of their annual curriculum requirements.
  • Lastly, ‘Faith in Action’ Days bring the entire student body together to support local and global organizations in need.

Serving Our Community
The Faithful Shepherd community can accomplish even more when we come together. For the past two years, we hosted an onsite event with Feed My Starving Children; to pack meals for children throughout the world. This event has been made possible by tithing a portion of the funds raised during our Septemberfest event.

Feed My Starving Children comes to our school to allow children and parents to make a positive impact on our global community.  The event is usually scheduled after the Christmas Season. Watch the Faithful Shepherd weekly e-newsletter after Christmas for details!

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship these meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.  Their MobilePack program provides the opportunity to get everyone involved by offering to bring their operation to Faithful Shepherd.
